Un ideal no realizado: la separación entre la ciencia y la religión en Francis Bacon, Margaret Cavendish y Galileo Galilei

Este articulo analizará tres casos históricos (Francis Bacon, Galileo Galilei y Margaret Cavendish) que ejemplifican la complejidad de las interacciones entre la ciencia y la religión en la Revolución Cientifica y confirman la interpretación de J. H. Brooke, según la cual en ese contexto histórico más que una separación tuvo lugar una diferenciación entre ellas. Sostendremos que estxs autores coincidieron en proponer como ideal la separación de la ciencia y la religión, pero, sin embargo, cada unx a su manera realizó una articulación entre ambas que a la larga impidió una separación completa. Esa articulación se debió a razones tanto epistémicas como extra epistémicas y manifiesta una tensión que fue caracteristica de la Revolución Cientifica y llega hasta nuestros dias.
